I have used Dan a number of times for locks, main door and a window lock fixed. Every time Dan has been on time or early and is so quick to do a repair! He is courteous and extremely helpful and has also at times charged us less than we expected due to discovering the issue wasn’t as serious as originally thought. Can’t recommend high enough, don’t go anywhere else, we certainly won’t be!

He was polite and friendly, and kept me informed about what needed doing and then got on and did it. Buying new windows VS window repair

Are UPVC windows and doors maintenance Free? Ask the Window repair Specialists.

Should you buy new windows and doors? or repair them?

When UPVC windows and doors were first introduced on the 90`s there main selling advantage was they were “Maintenance Free”. No Window repairs, No such thing! anything that has moving or operating parts can not be maintenance free. Wood windows should be treated/painted every year and hinges and locks serviced at the same time, And so do UPVC windows and doors. They don’t need painted but to freshen them up you can use a alcohol based solution/restorer which removes grime and makes them look new. The hinges should be lubricated once a year with silicone spray or graphite paste (we don’t use WD40 as it dries out parts over time) and the same treatment should be given to your window locking mechanism.

Maintaining your windows and doors will prolong their life and if these parts fail they can be easily replaced by us. We repair Window hinges, Window handles, Window mechanisms, Glass, Door cylinders, Door multi-point locking systems, Letterplates, Door hinges and door panels.

Multi-point lock repaired same day highly recommend

Another jammed closed UPVC door, This job was for a tenant in Cramlington. The door had completely jammed up and the mechanism had failed. We quickly opened the door up and changed the multi-point locking system. the turn around on this job was an hour. It might be a pain in the neck when a door doesn’t operate properly but more importantly it is a massive safety issue as your doors are a point of exit in an emergency. don’t hesitate to call us. We also supplied and fitted a new euro cylinder while we were there.

A Lady in Jarrow called us because she had a jammed shut stable type door, We quickly opened the door up and found that the top part of the mechanism/multi-point locking system had failed. We called our parts supplier and to buy a new mechanism for this particular KFV branded unit was nearly £200 just in parts. We adapted a standard KFV multi-point lock and did it for half of the original quotation.

This the back part of a traditional rim cylinder (commonly known as a yale lock) and nightlatch setup, this is the nightlatch. Insurance companies do not look at these locks when evaluating your home security unless this part has a deadlock function attached. We supply and fit These locks with the deadlock function.

Multi-point locking system repair

A lovely family in Shiremoor had difficulty in opening and closing their door this was due to failure in the gearbox part of the locking system and we quickly swapped it over for them and the door was as good as new.

Its vital to keep these locking mechanisms regularly serviced to prevent this happening

Our customer in Whitley bay had a jammed open door that wouldn’t close or lock. We diagnosed the issue as being the multipoint lock.

The lock was Yale by brand and Yale have stopped making this particular model, we sourced a universal lock and adapted it to fit.

But Dan was able to repair and replace the hinges and made them good as new. And a door mechanism was causing issues with locking the door, replaced in no time. A lot of his materials are on his van so many occasions you will get a quick fix.

Problem with front door not closing reliably.

Called DR at 08:45 and was fortunate he was in our area and could fit us in. He arrived 09:15 and quickly assessed the component on the door that was causing our problem and was able to correct this expeditiously and to our complete satisfaction. Cost of job I fund very reasonable and the service provided out of this world. DR was a very personable, courteous and confident tradesman and would not hesitate to use him again if the need arose.
