Upvc utility door mechanism not operating by handle

Excellent from start to finish! Contacted Dan for a non-emergency door repair on Friday evening. Phone was answered promptly and professionally. We quickly agreed a time for the repair for 10am the followed morning. Dan arrived on time and set straight to work. He very quickly had the door opened (with no damage) to gain access to the faulty mechanism, for which he had a spare on the van. Door back up and running within an hour of arriving. Would definitely use Dan again.

Window beading was refitted following the window being popped for a furniture delivery

Dan was great, I was in a spot of bother trying to get our window beads refitted after having the window removed. Very responsive, was with me in around an hour of requesting the job and it was completed swiftly and competently. Very reasonably priced too. Would use again and recommend him too.

Replacement of 3 upvc window locks that had seized and were unable to lock fully.

Called on Wednesday to enquire about a quote for replacing 3 upvc window locks that had seized, thus stopping the windows being fully closed/locked properly. Quote was very reasonable-£95 per window. Guys came on the Friday morning (COVID secure with masks, distancing and disinfecting) all the locks were repaired swiftly, all mess was cleaned and the works undertaken was fully explained too. Would highly recommend!

Dan gave me an estimate over the phone after seeing a photo of the problem. The guys turned up the same day and replaced hinges quickly and efficiently without mess. I was also advised on how to stop the problem recurring. I would be happy to recommend this company – they are friendly, straightforward and efficient.

When UPVC windows and doors were first introduced on the 90`s there main selling advantage was they were “Maintenance Free”. No Window repairs, No such thing! anything that has moving or operating parts can not be maintenance free. They don’t need painted but to freshen them up you can use a alcohol based solution/restorer which removes grime and makes them look new. Multi-point lock repaired same day highly recommend

Another jammed closed UPVC door, This job was for a tenant in Cramlington. The door had completely jammed up and the mechanism had failed. We quickly opened the door up and changed the multi-point locking system. the turn around on this job was an hour. It might be a pain in the neck when a door doesn’t operate properly but more importantly it is a massive safety issue as your doors are a point of exit in an emergency. don’t hesitate to call us. We also supplied and fitted a new euro cylinder while we were there.

We called our parts supplier and to buy a new mechanism for this particular KFV branded unit was nearly £200 just in parts. We adapted a standard KFV multi-point lock and did it for half of the original quotation.

This the back part of a traditional rim cylinder (commonly known as a yale lock) and nightlatch setup, this is the nightlatch. Insurance companies do not look at these locks when evaluating your home security unless this part has a deadlock function attached. We supply and fit These locks with the deadlock function.

Multi-point locking system repair

A lovely family in Shiremoor had difficulty in opening and closing their door this was due to failure in the gearbox part of the locking system and we quickly swapped it over for them and the door was as good as new.

Its vital to keep these locking mechanisms regularly serviced to prevent this happening

The lock was Yale by brand and Yale have stopped making this particular model, we sourced a universal lock and adapted it to fit.

Used Dan few times now. Excellent service. Excellent work. We had several windows in a rental property that wouldn’t open and shut . We were going to get them replaced as they were old. But Dan was able to repair and replace the hinges and made them good as new. And a door mechanism was causing issues with locking the door, replaced in no time. A lot of his materials are on his van so many occasions you will get a quick fix.

We quickly agreed a time for the repair for 10am the followed morning. Dan arrived on time and set straight to work. He very quickly had the door opened (with no damage) to gain access to the faulty mechanism, for which he had a spare on the van. Door back up and running within an hour of arriving. Would definitely use Dan again.”

Replaced a broken locking mechanism on our French doors and replaced hinges on a window unit.
