Mechanism and lock failing on composite door and sticking

Just wow! Messaged this company this morning on Checkatrade, within half an hr Laura rang to say the tradesman could be out before 12 he arrived before 11, looked at my door explained exactly what had failed the manufacturer that makes them, the part needed cost and how the part failed. Had the part fitted there and then. Done additional adjusting to help with the opening and closing of the door, asked me to test to see if I was happy, also said to give him a call and he would be straight back out if any problems occurred. He was professional and a proper tradesman 100% recommend thanks Dan.

Replace lock on front door

I only contacted Keyglaze yesterday and Laura arranged for Dan and Mike to come out today. The lads were lovely, professional, knowledgeable and fitted the new lock quickly and efficiently. As my daughter is autistic, she struggles with any change so Laura let me know when the lads were on their way so I could get her settled. I can’t fault this company and would definitely use them again.

Dan came out at 10 am today after going to his suppliers, they didn’t have the parts required, he took the old locking mechanism out and took it with him to another suppliers in Washington, luckily they had the parts. Dan put the new locking mechanism on and took the old one away, he was polite, friendly, and a very tidy worker who did go the extra mile. Don’t use anyone else if you want a professional job done.”

After I had left her house, she phoned me to say that the door handle was too stiff for her to open it. When I phoned D.R Locks, he was very busy but agreed to find time between jobs to go to my mother’s house. I got to the house just a few minutes before him and he adjusted the locking mechanisms so that my mother could easily lock or unlock the door. No extra charge was requested. I recommend this tradesman.”

Well overdue review!!
Dan came out to initially board up and then replace the glass panel in my door following it shattering. He came within 45minutes of calling him on a Sunday – prompt, efficient and friendly service. Dan was chatty and pleasant. Reasonable prices. When Dan returned just three days later to fit the glass he went above the call of duty also fixing my step at no extra cost! Highly recommended, wouldn’t hesitate to contact again.

We recently used this company to change our door lock that had jammed open and wouldnt shut or lock at all. Right from the start Dan the locksmith was brilliant he reassured us when we were worried we would miss our train as we were going to visit family and he had it fixed in no time and left no mess what so ever. Upvc utility door mechanism not operating by handle

Excellent from start to finish! Contacted Dan for a non-emergency door repair on Friday evening. Phone was answered promptly and professionally. We quickly agreed a time for the repair for 10am the followed morning. Dan arrived on time and set straight to work. He very quickly had the door opened (with no damage) to gain access to the faulty mechanism, for which he had a spare on the van. Door back up and running within an hour of arriving. Would definitely use Dan again.

Replace front door lock

Dan responded very quickly, replacing the front door lock, which was sticking and couldn’t be used. He was polite and friendly, and kept me informed about what needed doing and then got on and did it. Used Dan few times now. Excellent service. Excellent work. We had several windows in a rental property that wouldn’t open and shut . We were going to get them replaced as they were old. But Dan was able to repair and replace the hinges and made them good as new. And a door mechanism was causing issues with locking the door, replaced in no time. Alot of his materials are on his van so many occasions you will get a quick fix.

Some of our recent jobs

A Lady in Jarrow called us because she had a jammed shut stable type door, We quickly opened the door up and found that the top part of the mechanism/multi-point locking system had failed. We called our parts supplier and to buy a new mechanism for this particular KFV branded unit was nearly £200 just in parts. We adapted a standard KFV multi-point lock and did it for half of the original quotation. The customer was very happy with the end result. The door worked great, we supplied and fitted a new cylinder and re-aligned the door Free of charge. We specialise in UPVC door repairs and we can source Multi-point Locking systems that other companies can not at a very competitive price.

Door repair in Wallsend today, A customers door had jammed shut and wouldn’t open for them. We opened up the door and replaced a FUHR mechanism and cylinder and adjusted the hinges while we were there. One happy customer and another good doors life extended.
